    Polson Graeme Polson

“Studying at Schiller International University’s Paris Campus is a smart way to increase one’s cross-cultural literacy in the heart of Franco-phonic culture, while learning in a friendly, welcoming and supportive atmosphere. It is not only about what you learn from textbooks, but experiencing the splendour of  starting on a new page by travelling and soaking oneself  in a foreign culture, in the  quest to gain a valuable understanding of the  ever dynamic globalised world we live in.”

    Graeme Polson (South Africa)

    MBA, International Business.

    Life in Paris

Capital city of the sixth world economy, Paris is also the fifth most populated city in Europe with 11,769,433 inhabitants.

It is the economic and commercial capital of France, its leading financial and stock market. The density of its railway, highway and airport structure (one of the main European hubs), make it a focal point for international transport.

Although the Paris economy is largely dominated by services, it still remains an important manufacturing powerhouse of Europe, especially in industrial sectors such as automobiles, aeronautics, and electronics. Over recent decades, the local economy has moved towards high-value-added activities, in particular business services. Paris also has a prominent place in the world of fashion and luxury.

Several international organizations have their headquarters in Paris. They include UNESCO, the OECD, the International Chamber of Commerce, and the Financial Action Task Force (FATF).

A destination visited annually by some 26 million tourists, the city offers over 150 museums including the Louvre, and exceptional sites, such as the Champs-Elysees or the Eiffel Tower. World Capital of exhibitions and conferences (5% of the global business conferences for nearly 600 000 square meters), fashion, luxury, gastronomy and of romantic love, Paris also offers an important choice in entertainment, including theaters and operas, and moviegoer audiences have an unparalleled choice of films from around the world.

The main areas for nightlife are the Avenue des Champs-Élysées, Place de la Concorde to the Arc de Triomphe, Bastille, Pigalle, Rue Mouffetard, Rue Oberkampf, famous for its bars, the Marais, la Butte aux Cailles, the Canal Saint-Martin, the Latin Quarter, the district of Les Halles, Montparnasse and the Rue de Lappe.
